Swiss flight to Johannesburg returned to Zurich after more than 11 hours of flight.
The flight LX288 departed Zurich on Tuesday, February 11 2025 to Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Airbus A340-300 (registration HB-JMA) climbed to 35,000 ft then cruised at 38,000 ft over South of Chad when the crew decided to turn around.
The aircraft was experiencing a technical fault with the weather radar.
The crew decided to return to Zurich because thunderstorms were expected on the remaining flight route and safe flight control could not be guaranteed.
The 21-year-old aircraft went back to Zurich Airport where it landed at 21:15 CET, 11 hours after departure.
