An Australian said the body of a dead passenger was placed next to them on a Qatar Airways flight during 4 hours.

An Australian couple, who was travelling to Venice for holiday, a woman had died in the aisle beside them during the flight from Melbourne to Doha, BBC reports.

Flight attendants responded “in no time” when the woman collapsed, but that “unfortunately the lady couldn’t be saved, which was pretty heart-breaking to watch”.

The cabin crew had tried to move her body towards business class “but she was quite a large lady and they couldn’t get her through the aisle”.

Her corpse, covered in blankets, was next to them for the remaining four hours of the flight without offering them to move, despite there being empty seats.

When the plane landed four hours later, passengers were asked to stay while medical staff and police came on board.

Ambulance officers had then started pulling blankets off the woman to remove the body.

An Etihad Airways plane carrying nearly 300 passengers was stranded on a Melbourne runway for 14 hours after a tyre burst.

The Etihad flight EY461 was heading to Abu Dhabi from Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at around 18:15 on Sunday evening when a “technical reason” led to the takeoff being aborted at the last second.

Emergency services were called to the scene as a “safety precaution” with a Melbourne Airport spokesperson confirming that the flight had “rejected takeoff”.

“The Aviation Rescue and Firefighting Service responded to a request from the aircraft and deployed fire-fighting foam as a precaution,” the spokesperson said.

Due to damage to the aircraft’s tyres, the aircraft could not be towed off the runway. All passengers safely disembarked the aircraft and were bussed to the terminal.

The incident meant that only one runway was available for operations, causing mass delays during Melbourne’s highly-busy summer period.

The runway has reopened as of Monday morning, with an Airport spokesperson stating that runway inspections have been completed.

A Jetstar passenger caused significant disruption at Melbourne International Airport after he forcibly opened the emergency exit door of an Airbus A320.

According to witnesses, the passenger, whose identity has not been released, was observed pacing and acting erratically in the cabin before the plane landed. Flight attendants repeatedly urged the individual to remain seated, but their requests were ignored.

Once the aircraft was parked at the gate, the passenger stood up and opened the emergency exit door, causing the evacuation slide to deploy. The individual then proceeded to walk along the wing of the plane, seemingly oblivious to the danger posed by the aircraft’s engines and the height above the ground.

Ground staff from Menzies, the airport’s handling company, intervened and restrained the passenger before they could cause further harm. The individual was subsequently arrested by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

A spokesperson for Jetstar confirmed the incident, stating, “We can confirm that a passenger opened the emergency exit door after arrival into Melbourne, which automatically deployed the slide. The plane was parked at the gate at the time. The passenger has been arrested by the AFP.”

The AFP has indicated that the passenger is being assessed by medical professionals and will likely be transferred to a hospital for further evaluation.
