An Antonov An-26 (registration (9S-AYN) was destroyed after it overran the end of the runway at Kongolo Airport.

2025-01-21: Air Kasai Antonov An-26 (9S-AYN) was destroyed when it overran the end of the runway at Kongolo Airfield (FZRQ), DR Congo. The aircraft came to rest on soft ground, its right maingear collapsed and a fire broke out at engine #2. No casualties reported. www.radiookapi.net

One of the aircraft’s engines caught fire during the accident but was quickly extinguished by first responders.

No casualties have been reported.
