An ordeal has played out on the tarmac at Avalon Airport where a young man armed with a shotgun and knives boarded a Jetstar flight bound for Sydney.

A man has allegedly attempted to board a Jetstar flight at Avalon Airport with a gun. He was put into a headlock by a passenger until police arrived.
