The Airbus A320-200 (registration G-UZHE) was close to Madrid, when the crew declared an emergency (squawk 7700).

The flight U28069 is diverting to Madrid due to smoke in the cabin. The airline is announcing a technical issue with the aircraft.

The A320 just landed on runway 32L at Madrid Airport.

The plane is joined on the taxiway by fire trucks.

UPDATE 09:59 CET
The A320 is now parked in an isolated area.

The aircraft will resume the flight. The airline decided to arrange a new plane to fly to Madrid.
