JetBlue flight to West Palm Beach was forced to return to New York JFK after 3 metal pieces fell from the aircraft.

JetBlue flight #B6153 departed New York JFK Airport at 20:37 EDT on Tuesday, July 2 2024 to West Palm Beach.

Shortly after takeoff, pilots of another JetBlue flight contacted the tower after seeing pieces dropping from the aircraft on runway 13L.

The flight was operated by an Airbus A320 (registration N507JT) which is 24 years old, delivered to the airline in 2000.

The tower then contacted the flight #B6153 which confirmed an issue and vibrations after gear retraction. The pilots requested to go to a lower altitude.

The runway then was closed to for ground vehicles to inspect the debris. The ground crew then confirmed to have found 3 pieces of metal.

Pilots confirmed 165 passengers and crew on board.

The flight then was vectored to the long runway 22L while the crew declared an emergency.

After landing, the A320 stopped on a taxiway while ground vehicles inspected the brakes and engine cowling.

The aircraft was then cleared to taxi back to the gate where passengers disembakred.

Another A320 aircraft (registration N636JB) performed the flight to West Palm Beach about 4 hours later.

A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX narrowly avoided a collision with a departing JetBlue Embraer ERJ-190 at Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport.

On Apr 19, 2024 at 8:11 AM, Jetblue Airways Embraer E-190 (registration N323JB was performing flight #B61554 to Boston.

The plane began its take-off run on runway 05 at Washington National Airport, DC when a Southwest Boeing 737MAX8 (registration N8710M), performing flight #WN2937 to Orlando, taxied 40 meters past the holding line on taxiway “Charlie” into the way of the E-190.

The Boeing 737 was heading for runway 01. ATC immediately instructed the Southwest flight to stop while the E-190 rejected the take-off and defused a potential collision conflict.

The FAA said an air traffic controller told the pilot of Southwest Flight 2937 bound for Orlando to cross Runway 4. At the same time, JetBlue Flight 1554 to Logan Airport was cleared for takeoff from the same runway.

A JetBlue A321neo delivered weeks ago made an emergency landing in Shannon following an engine failure.

A JetBlue flight made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport after suffering an engine problem over the Atlantic on Saturday morning.

Jetblue flight B62220 was travelling from London’s Heathrow Airport to New York JFK. The Airbus A321neo (registration N2180J) jet was cruising at 34,000 ft over the North Atlantic when the crew declared an emergency.

The flight was forced to turn around and divert to Shannon, landing with just one of its two engines operating.

According to breakingnews.ie, one of the engines suffered a ‘compressor stall’ and the crew shut the engine down as a precaution.

The crew confirmed to ATC they had shut down the right engine and that they would require airport emergency services to be standing by for their arrival.

The A321 landed safety by 10.50 local time and was met by fire crew and escorted to the terminal.

A recovery flight took the passenger to New York JFK the day after. But the aircraft with the technical issue is still at Shannon Airport at the time we write this article.
