A KLM Airbus A330-300 is holding and burning fuel before returning to Amsterdam.

KLM flight #KL661 departed Amsterdam at 09:49 CET today for a 10h and 55 minutes flight to Houston IAH Airport.

The Airbus A330-300 (registration PH-AKA) climbed to 34,000 ft but turned around over Ireland one hour into the flight due to an engine issue.

The aircraft descended to 20,000 ft then 14,000 ft before starting hold near Amsterdam to start burning fuel.

Once weight reduced, the flight is expected to land back at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Flight KL661 is on final approach to runway 27.

The A330 has landed at AMS and vacated the runway 27.

KLM flights to Shanghai and Singapore returned to Amsterdam Schiphol Sunday following technical issues.

Sunday, December 29 2024, KLM flight KL895 departed Amsterdam at 14:19 CET to Shanghai but 4 hours into the flight, the Boeing 777-200ER turned around over Azerbaijan at 34,000 ft altitude.

The aircraft (registration PH-BQD) landed back at Schiphol 9 hours after departure. There was a problem with “drinking water” according to Dutch news De Telegraaf.

Few hours later, KLM flight KL835 departed Amsterdam at 21:54 CET to Singapore and climbed to 29,000 ft but the Boeing 777-300ER quickly returned to Schiphol.

The aircraft (registration PH-BVS) landed back at AMS Airport 1 hour and 32 minutes later due to apparent fuel problems.

The first plane is 21 years old, the second is 7 years old. Both flights were cancelled.

A KLM flight en route from Oslo to Amsterdam just made an emergency landing at Torp Airport after a report of a technical issue.

Flight KL1204 from Oslo, Norway to Amsterdam departed one hour late at 18:00 CET to the Netherlands.

But the Boeing 737-800 stopped the climb at 5,000 ft and required to land in the nearest Airport due to hydraulic failure.

The aircraft (registration PH-BXM) has landed on the runway but skidded off the runway onto the grass just before the taxiway.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the emergency landing.

Emergency services assisting passengers, police said.

The pilots announced to ATC there are 182 people on board the plane, including the crew.

KLM flight from Amsterdam arrived 1 day and 6 hours late at Mexico City due to 100 pigs in cargo hold.

KLM KL685 departed late Friday, December 13 2024 from Amsterdam. The flight departed at 15:15, 45 mins late due to a last-minute repair to the aircraft.

After 7 hours of flight over the Atlantic, the crew decided to divert to Bermuda due to smelly pigs in the cargo hold of the Boeing 787-9.

But the smell of the animals was so strong that pilots decided to make a stopover in Bermuda were the pigs were removed form the cargo hold.

The pilots warned ATC about the living cargo causing the inconvenience to the 259 passengers and crew members.

The aircraft (registration PH-BHA) landed at 15:38 CST at L.F. Wade International Airport for a 29-hour stop over.

Passengers and crew were accommodated in nearby hotels.

The flight resumed Saturday, December 14 2024. It took off at 10:47 pm and finally landed 4 hours and 36 minutes later in Mexico City on Sunday at 01:34 CST.

Yesterday, KLM flight KL685 operated by a Boeing 777-200 ER (registration PH-BQH) to Mexico had a stop at BDA to pick up those specific pigs to bring them to Mexico anyway.

An emergency slide of a KLM aircraft was accidentally deployed at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

KLM flight KL987 to London City was cancelled Sunday, November 24 2024 after a ground incident at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

The Embraer 190-100 (registration PH-EXY) arrived from Billund, Denmark and was preparing for flight KL987 to London City.

The flight crew are supposed to disable the slide when they first park at the gate. It looks the flight attendants forgot to disarm the slide at arrival on door 4.

Once the catering delivery driver opened the door, the emergency slide deployed.

The flight was cancelled and the plane took out of service for maintenance. It resumed flight operations the next day on flight to Frankfurt.

A KLM A330 to Houston returned to Amsterdam shortly after takeoff this morning.

KLM #KL661 departed Amsterdam Schiphol this morning on time at 09:56 CET for a 10-hour flight to Houston, Texas.

The Airbus A330-200 (registration PH-AOA) departed form runway 24 but stopped the climb at only 6,000 ft due to a bird strikes into both engines according to The Aviation Herald.

The crew contacted ATC and immediately requested to return to AMS Airport.

The 19-year-old aircraft landed back on runway 18R only 40 minutes after departure.

Fire trucks escorted the plane back to the gate as pilots didn’t have enough time to dump/burn fuel enough before the heavy landing.
